Paramedic Wanted in Kalmar County

We are looking for someone who wants to work in a varied environment with us in the ambulance service in Kalmar County.

Prehospital care requires competence to provide good, effective, and safe close care to all citizens. This involves providing prehospital care to patients of all ages who may be affected by breathing and circulation issues, unconsciousness, pain, expectant mothers, and/or mental instability. Prehospital assessments are made, and patients are examined and provided treatment on-site and/or during transport to a healthcare facility as needed. The ambulance service transports patients between healthcare facilities locally, regionally, and nationally, primarily and secondarily depending on the patient's assessed care needs.

During the summer of 2025, you have the opportunity to become part of our ambulance team. Selection is ongoing, so do not wait to apply.

You will work day/evening/night/weekend shifts and will be based at one of our stations in the county. Please indicate in your application which station(s) you prefer to work at. You will be employed within the health and medical care administration on a temporary basis, but there may be opportunities for extension after the holiday period.

About You

We are looking for a licensed nurse and prefer that you have experience in emergency care or ambulance care. Good physical condition and a driver's license are required. An introductory training will be conducted before employment. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. Your Future Workplace

Kalmar County consists of 12 municipalities with a total of approximately 247,000 inhabitants, covering an area of 11,694 square kilometers. The county includes rural areas, towns, lakes, islands, and archipelagos. The primary task of the ambulance service is to meet the population's need for ambulance care. The goal of the ambulance service is to assess the patient, provide treatment if necessary, and refer to the appropriate level of care. Within the ambulance service, there are resources such as emergency ambulances, minor care ambulances, and a bus that transports patients between the county's hospitals and the Regional Hospital in Linköping. The ambulance service in Region Kalmar County has over 200 employees. During the summer months, the population increases due to tourists and events in the county.

In the ambulance service's county-wide operations, there are 15 ambulance stations, which are Kalmar, Borgholm, Löttorp, Mörbylånga, Nybro, Emmaboda, Torsås, Vimmerby, Hultsfred, Virserum, Oskarshamn, Ålem, Högsby, Västervik, and Gamleby.
